Why is the cervical cancer screening test so crucial?

Did you know?

Approximately 300 women a year in Quebec will be diagnosed with cervical cancer.

The good news?

For most women, this cancer can be detected in its pre-cancerous phase. How can it be detected? By taking the famous "pap test" when you're aged between 21 and 65.

This rapid test, lasting less than 5 minutes and performed in a clinic using a speculum, is generally painless and can detect atypical or pre-cancerous cells in the cervix. This test is recommended every two to three years, unless otherwise advised by a physician.

If you are among those due for a pap test, please write to rdv@districtmedical.ca to request an appointment. Our pap test clinic is open to all patients with a RAMQ card or Blue Cross insurance. We have evening and weekend availability!
